Jorge Luis Zamora was born in the City of Colon, in the province of Matanzas, Cuba on December 24th, 1966. Influenced by his musician parents, he started to study music at his local music school. In 1981 he moved to Havana to study guitar at the National Conservatory for Music with Prof. Aldo Rodríguez. In 1985 he graduated with a Masters degree in Music & Performance.

Later he began a long and intense phase of performing and teaching. Today, Jorge Luis Zamora is one of the most active and popular guitar players in the world. His interpretations of Latin American music are widely known.
Jorge Luis Zamora has lived in Costa Rica since 2002 and is a master teacher at the University of Costa Rica.
